Lee Jae-myung: "People Know People Power's Real Estate Full Inspection Evasion Is a 'Trick'"
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, pressured the opposition party People Power Party to promptly undergo a full-scale real estate investigation.
On the 22nd, Lee posted on Facebook an article titled "Does the People Power Party Qualify as the Main Opposition Party?" stating, "The role of the main opposition party is to properly criticize and compete to check the ruling party and achieve more progressive politics," adding, "However, the People Power Party, which did not hesitate to use harsh ridicule against the government's real estate policy, is now resorting to trick after trick to avoid the full-scale real estate investigation they promised themselves."
He continued, "The People Power Party publicly announced to the entire nation that they had obtained consent for the full-scale real estate investigation from all their members," and criticized, "Yet, they insisted on receiving the investigation from the Board of Audit and Inspection, where it is legally impossible, and after the Board refused, only then did they request the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission."
Lee further pointed out, "(The People Power Party) delayed the investigation by omitting the submission of the basic 'personal information consent forms,' and although they submitted them belatedly after public outcry, they still have not submitted the 'family personal information consent forms,'" adding, "As a result, the public suspects that the People Power Party is using every possible trick to avoid the investigation."
He especially emphasized, "There can be no compromise in eradicating corruption among real estate public officials," and stressed, "The Democratic Party completed a full-scale real estate investigation of all its members and showed a resolute willingness to take painful measures by recommending withdrawal from the party based solely on suspicions not yet proven illegal."
