Changwon City to Distribute 370 Million Won in Carbon Point Program Incentives
Participation Households Achieve 59.2% Energy Savings and Reduce CO2 Emissions by 5,871 Tons
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City, Gyeongnam announced on the 22nd that it will provide a total incentive of 370 million KRW to 31,792 households participating in the Carbon Point Program who saved more than 5% energy.
Among all participating households, 59.2% (52,884 households) saved energy compared to the baseline usage. Among them, the number of households eligible for incentives by saving more than 5% is 31,792 households.
The city reduced a total of 5,871 tons of CO2 in the first half of this year through energy savings. This is equivalent to planting more than 890,000 pine trees.
The Carbon Point Program is a program that provides an annual incentive of up to 100,000 KRW if households reduce their electricity, water, and city gas usage by more than 5% compared to the average usage over two years.
Currently, about 107,000 households are enrolled in Changwon City.
Previously, the "Apartment Carbon Point Program Participation Competition" achieved the result of newly enrolling about 4,000 households.
In addition, the ongoing eco-friendly green apartment project is steadily expanding the number of participating households.
