Overseas-Expanded Domestic Return Companies Flock to Gyeongnam!
Six of 15 Companies Returning in the First Half of 2021 Decide to Invest in Gyeongnam
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 22nd that among the 15 domestic reshoring companies selected by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in the first half of 2021, 6 companies decided to reshore and invest in Gyeongnam.
Domestic reshoring companies refer to companies that have operated overseas business sites for more than two years and have established startups or new business sites domestically.
Currently, 12 companies have decided to reshore to Gyeongnam.
In particular, among the domestic reshoring companies selected after the spread of COVID-19, 10 companies decided to reshore to Gyeongnam, which is the highest level nationwide.
By industry, there are 2 companies in automotive parts, 2 in chemicals, 1 in electrical and electronics, 1 in metal manufacturing, and 6 in other industries, which are highly related to Gyeongnam's key industries.
The province plans to leverage this momentum to strengthen efforts to attract domestic reshoring companies linked to Gyeongnam-type industrial infrastructure such as smart industrial complexes, Jinhae New Port, and small but strong research and development special zones.
In particular, the province will enhance non-face-to-face investment attraction activities through six overseas offices in the province, KOTRA overseas trade centers, overseas Korean community daily newspapers, and news agencies to discover additional companies wishing to reshore to Gyeongnam, and plans to hold overseas local briefings in the second half of the year.
