[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] Eugene Investment & Securities is hosting an educational program to strengthen competitiveness in the comprehensive asset management field.

On the 21st, Eugene Investment & Securities announced the launch of the 2nd Eugene Champion Private Banker (PB) training course. Over seven months and 60 hours, various courses including financial products, asset management, and liberal arts lectures will be conducted.

This training program was introduced to secure competitiveness in the wealth management (WM) sector in line with the trend of Eugene Investment & Securities branches shifting their revenue structure from stock sales to comprehensive asset management. In 2019, the first class produced 14 Eugene Champion PBs. The 2nd course focuses on strengthening practical skills as comprehensive asset management experts by intensively placing various case studies and practical training along with theoretical learning.

Eugene Investment & Securities selected the final trainees after receiving applications only from PBs working at field sales branches who wished to participate and conducting internal screening. The total number of trainees for the 2nd course is 27.

The curriculum, composed of theory, practice, and liberal arts courses, is conducted through both in-person and video education methods. First, basic theoretical education such as learning the latest financial product trends and understanding the taxation of financial products is provided. Opportunities to enhance sales know-how and consultation skills, such as meetings with outstanding PBs and sales role-playing, are also arranged. Additionally, customer-tailored liberal arts education, including psychology and the history of brands, which helps communicate broadly with customers, is prepared. Employees who complete all courses are given the opportunity for overseas training, and those selected as ‘Master PB’ receive additional benefits such as bonus points. Outstanding participants are awarded prize money.

Cho Sung-ho, Head of Financial Products at Eugene Investment & Securities, said, “We will continue to prepare various educational programs to provide high-level financial services based on customer needs,” adding, “We will establish definite competitiveness in the asset management field.”
