After Securing Additional Budget, 10% Discount Sales from August, Issuance Amount 5 Billion Won
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 21st that it will resume the 10% discount sale of the Gwangyang Love Gift Certificate, which was conducted to promote local consumption and revitalize the local economy, on June 22.
The city temporarily suspended the discount sale on May 28 due to the depletion of the budget allocated to some sales points, but due to high inquiries about purchasing the gift certificates, it will resume the discount sale by distributing the issuance amount per sales point before securing the budget until the remaining balance is exhausted.
Once the discount budget (57 million KRW) available from June 22 is exhausted, sales will switch to general sales, and the city plans to secure a discount budget in the first supplementary budget and resume the 10% discount sale from August.
In 2021, to facilitate the convenience of gift certificate users, the number of Gwangyang Love Gift Certificate sales points was expanded from 2 to 27, but some sales points such as NH Nonghyup Bank Gwangyang Branch, Gwangyang City Hall Sub-branch, and Donggwangyang Nonghyup sales points experienced congestion, causing inconvenience in purchasing.
In 2021, the city sold 27 billion KRW worth of Gwangyang Love Gift Certificates, including 7.9 billion KRW from POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks and the Cooperative Association, and 4.6 billion KRW from the Farmers and Fishermen Public Interest Allowance.
