Four National Petitions on Sexual and Violent Crimes Including the 2n Room Case... "Thorough Investigation and Appropriate Punishment"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] The Blue House has expressed its intention to strongly respond to crimes threatening the social community through responses to four public petitions regarding sex crimes and violent crimes, including the 'Second n-room' case.
Deputy Commissioner Song Min-heon of the National Police Agency stated this on the 21st in response to the Blue House public petitions. The four cases include the 'Second n-room' case where illegal footage was distributed disguised as women, a case involving a suspect accused of special rape and other charges in a motel confinement and sexual assault case currently on trial, a case where a suspect was arrested and prosecuted for killing his older sister and deceiving others into thinking she was alive, and a case where a suspect who inflicted serious injury on a taxi driver was sent to prosecution under the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.
Deputy Commissioner Song explained, "The petitioner stated that videos of 1,000 naked men along with their occupations and names were distributed on SNS, urging thorough investigation and punishment for the ‘Second N-room.’ This petition was supported by over 220,000 citizens."
Deputy Commissioner Song said, "The suspect Kim Young-jun (29 years old) distributed illegal videos of over 1,300 men, including 39 children and adolescents, for about seven and a half years since 2013," adding, "The police seized and destroyed the original videos to prevent secondary damage and plan to apply for seizure and confiscation of criminal proceeds before prosecution."
Deputy Commissioner Song pledged, "Using various systems, we will thoroughly track and strictly punish not only illegal distribution networks of sexual exploitation materials on messengers like Telegram and Discord, and the dark web, but also suppliers who produce and distribute illegal footage and composites, as well as demanders who purchase, possess, or view them."
Furthermore, regarding the case of confinement and sexual assault of a woman in her 20s, Deputy Commissioner Song explained, "The suspect lured the victim, whom he met through SNS, to a motel under the pretense of life counseling, threatened her with a weapon, and committed robbery and rape. The suspect was arrested on April 17 and sent to prosecution on April 22," adding, "He is currently on trial, charged with violation of the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, special rape, injury by rape, and special robbery."
Regarding the petition demanding the death penalty for the younger brother who killed his older sister, Deputy Commissioner Song explained, "This is a case where the younger brother killed his older sister, disposed of the body, and deceived others into thinking the victim was alive by using her SNS and mobile banking."
Deputy Commissioner Song stated, "As a result of the investigation, we secured evidence that the younger brother was the prime suspect. He was arrested on April 29 and sent to prosecution on May 4. He is currently on trial, charged with murder and corpse disposal."
Regarding the petition for strict punishment of the perpetrator who assaulted a taxi driver in Anyang, Deputy Commissioner Song said, "This is a case where the suspect repeatedly assaulted a taxi driver on the street in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, causing serious injury," adding, "The suspect was caught in the act and arrested on May 14 on charges of violating the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes, serious injury, and obstruction of official duties."
