Revitalizing Geochang-gun's Local Economy... Incentive Support for Travel Agencies to Attract Tourists
Partial Support for Travel Expenses Using Local Restaurants and Accommodation Facilities
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is providing incentives to travel agencies that attract group tourists to revitalize the tourism industry and local economy, which have been stagnating due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The incentive support is a project that partially covers travel expenses for travel agencies that recruit group tourists who visit tourist attractions in Geochang-gun and use local restaurants and accommodations. This program will run from the 21st until the budget for the year is exhausted.
The support criteria require at least 20 domestic tourists or 10 foreign tourists, or 40 students on school trips. They must use at least one tourist attraction and one restaurant within Geochang, and one-night group tours must use local accommodations.
The support amount ranges from a minimum of 3,000 KRW to a maximum of 10,000 KRW per person, paid differentially according to the payment criteria. Companies wishing to receive support must submit a group tourist visit plan to the Geochang-gun Culture and Tourism Division at least one week before the trip, and within 30 days after the trip ends, submit a payment application form with supporting documents such as proof of visits to tourist attractions and restaurants.
