[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced that one person who temporarily visited Geochang for their parents' ancestral rites tested positive for COVID-19 on the 17th.
The 42nd confirmed case in Geochang is a resident of Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do. On the 16th, they exhibited suspected COVID-19 symptoms such as headache, muscle pain, chills, mild fever, and a slight cough, and after being tested at the Geochang-gun Public Health Center, they received a positive result on the 17th.
The confirmed patient was admitted to Masan Medical Center, and an epidemiological investigation is underway.
Close contacts identified so far have been tested and placed under self-quarantine, and disinfection and closure orders have been completed for the locations visited by the confirmed patient.
