Top PC Bang Market Share 'Aion Classic' Launches in North and South America
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] NCSoft's 'Aion Classic,' released domestically last November, continues its long-term success by ranking high on PC Bang charts.
According to GameTriks, a PC Bang market share analysis agency, Aion ranked 8th in market share as of the second week of June. Considering it has been about seven months since its release, this is a considerably high figure.
Aion, one of NCSoft's representative IPs, is characterized by its faction structure divided into the Elyos and Asmodians, and unique content such as aerial combat. It was recognized for its quality, winning the Game of the Year award in the year it was released in 2008. It also set a great record by maintaining the number one spot in PC Bang market share rankings for 160 weeks.
The game has also received much acclaim overseas. In 2009, it won the 'Best Online Game Award' at GamesCom, Europe's largest game show, and also received the 'Best MMO' award at PAX. NCSoft released Aion in North America and Europe in 2009 and has been servicing it for 12 years this year.
Aion Classic is set to target the global market starting with North and South America. NCWest, NCSoft's North American subsidiary, will release Aion Classic in North and South America on the 23rd (local time). Users can purchase usage passes for 3 days, 30 days, 90 days, or 1 year to enjoy Aion Classic, and can also play the game for free depending on differences in growth methods such as experience gain rates.
