Gwangju Seo-gu 'Lifelong Learning Support Project' Promotion
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 17th that it will promote the ‘Lifelong Learning Support Project’ targeting residents in the blind spots of lifelong education such as the hearing impaired, members of multicultural families, and low-educated adults.
This project was selected in March for the ‘Autonomous District Lifelong Learning Support Project for Education Blind Spots’ hosted by the Gwangju Lifelong Education Promotion Foundation, receiving a project fund of 15 million KRW to provide customized lifelong education programs to the target groups.
The operating program includes ‘I am now a Master of Organizing and Storage,’ a lifelong learning job-linked program for adult hearing-impaired individuals.
Programs such as ‘World Cultural Travel Online,’ where members of multicultural families can study and experience Korean history and world cultures, and ‘Another Family! Growing Companion Plants,’ which provides opportunities for social re-engagement for low-educated adults and the elderly, will also be conducted.
This program will be conducted by combining face-to-face and non-face-to-face education methods while strictly adhering to social distancing measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
