Jeongeup-si Receives 'A Grade' in Horticultural Industry Comprehensive Plan Implementation Evaluation
[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Jeongeup City, Jeollabuk-do (Mayor Yoo Jin-seop) announced on the 17th that it received the highest grade, "A grade," in the 2021 "Horticulture Industry Comprehensive Plan Implementation Performance Evaluation" conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
As an incentive, the city received 3 billion KRW in interest-free support for integrated marketing organization production area distribution revitalization funds within the region, along with the opportunity to be given priority in selecting production area-related projects.
This highest grade achievement in the horticulture industry comprehensive plan implementation performance evaluation marks the second consecutive year following last year.
The horticulture industry comprehensive plan is a five-year plan (2018?2022) to establish a systematic horticulture industry development plan and promote linkage with government production area distribution policies.
The Ministry of Agriculture evaluates annually the achievement levels of six indicators across three categories: implementation efforts, production sector, and distribution sector.
This evaluation was conducted on 110 metropolitan and local governments nationwide and 9 item-specific metropolitan organizations, rated across five grades from A to E based on scores.
The city has received excellent evaluations as a result of continuous efforts such as forming the Horticulture Industry Development Council and Working Council involving administration and local agricultural cooperatives since 2014 to enhance the competitiveness of production area distribution organizations and establishing a comprehensive horticulture industry plan for integrated marketing.
Additionally, the city has consecutively received A grades in the integrated marketing organization project performance evaluation hosted by Jeollabuk-do.
The integrated marketing organization performance evaluation focuses on inspecting the operation performance of integrated marketing projects as of the end of last year.
By receiving an A grade in this evaluation as well, the city secured 65 million KRW in provincial funds that can be used for media promotion opportunities, marketing, and product commercialization expenses.

Mayor Yoo Jin-seop stated, "We will continue to conduct farmer education and consulting for item-specific organization to enhance the status of agricultural products and devote efforts to developing new income crops and increasing farmers' income."
