Suncheon-si Announces Call for Performers for This Year's Cultural Heritage Utilization Project
Six Projects Including 'Munhwajaeyaheng' and 'Saengsaeng Munhwajae' Utilization Programs
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 16th that it will publicly recruit project operators for six programs under this year’s Cultural Heritage Utilization Project.
The Cultural Heritage Utilization Project is a program that provides citizens with various educational and experiential programs by utilizing historical and cultural heritage throughout the region. Suncheon City secured a total project budget of 1.17 billion KRW with six projects selected in five categories of the “Cultural Heritage Administration Regional Cultural Heritage Utilization Project.”
The cultural heritage utilization programs include ▲ the Cultural Heritage Night Tour themed “Revival of Suncheon Bueopseong” for enjoying culture at night ▲ the World Heritage Utilization Project “The Legend of Suncheon Seonamsa, a Thousand-Year-Old Temple!” ▲ the Traditional Temple Utilization Project “Opening the Thousand-Year Gate of Jogyesan” ▲ the vivid cultural heritage programs “A Modern Cultural Heritage Outing with Missionaries” and “From the History of the Imjin War to an Era of East Asian Peace” ▲ and the Hyanggyo and Seowon Utilization Project “Suncheon, Following the Principles of Heaven.”
Since the proposal submission dates, eligibility, and contents vary for each program, detailed information can be confirmed through individual bid announcements.
Upon submitting project proposals according to the bid announcements, a selection committee composed of internal and external experts in related fields will select the preferred negotiator.
The full-scale projects are scheduled to be launched from the second half of the year.

A city official stated, “We will offer citizens, exhausted from the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, a special experience through local cultural heritage,” adding, “We expect to vividly convey the history and meaning contained in the cultural heritage and enhance opportunities for local residents to enjoy culture.”
