Helping Hands for Farms in Changnyeong-gun Amid Labor Shortage Due to COVID-19
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] More than 300 employees from Gyeongnam Province and the Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam Agricultural Policy Support Group (Buulkyung Nonghyup) have joined efforts to help with onion harvesting in the Changnyeong-gun area.
The area where the labor assistance is taking place is Changnyeong-gun, where a cluster of COVID-19 infections among foreign workers occurred.
Following the garlic and onion labor assistance from the 9th to the 11th, they are now working to complete the onion harvest this week.
Employees from Gyeongnam Province and Buulkyung Agricultural Policy Support Group Nonghyup will support onion harvesting at nine vulnerable farms in Changnyeong-gun over two days.
