In the COVID Era, It's Just Right... Air Busan's No-Landing Study Flights Gaining Popularity Rapidly
Interest from Over 20 Schools After First Flight, Inquiries Continue
Popular as a Safe Educational and Harvest Experience Travel Alternative
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Air Busan is attracting attention with its non-landing educational flight program launched under the ‘With Corona’ initiative.
Air Busan (CEO An Byung-seok) announced on the 15th that the number of schools participating in the ‘non-landing educational flight’ program, first conducted on May 6, is increasing.
The non-landing educational flight is a program that provides students, who have missed out on school trips and experiential learning opportunities due to COVID-19, with career experience in the aviation industry and unique experiential activities.
It was the first program of its kind planned by Air Busan in the industry to offer education, travel, and unique memories.
According to Air Busan, about 20 schools in the region have currently expressed their intention to participate, and inquiries are coming from over 100 schools.
Since the social distancing level in the Busan area was lowered to level 1.5 on the 24th of last month, the number of schools showing interest in participation has increased.
Air Busan’s non-landing educational flight is establishing itself as a safe and new alternative product for school trips and experiential learning in the COVID-19 era.
On the 14th, about 100 students from Busan Mangmi Elementary School participated in the non-landing educational flight.
To prevent infectious diseases onboard, the middle seats were left empty during the flight. The program was conducted strictly following quarantine rules such as wearing KF94 masks at all times.
An Air Busan official said, “As experiential learning has become difficult due to COVID-19, schools are increasingly hoping to participate, recognizing the safety and educational effectiveness of the non-landing educational flight.”
He added, “We believe it will become an alternative model for safe on-site experiential learning through a perfect quarantine system.”
Air Busan’s non-landing educational flight includes, in the morning, educational activities such as experiential learning in a mock-up (MOCK UP) facility that exactly reproduces the interior of an A321-200 aircraft inside the Air Busan headquarters, job introductions of aviation workers such as pilots, cabin crew, and maintenance engineers, and uniform fitting and in-flight service experience.
