On the 14th, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hye held a meeting with the presidents of the Korea Council for University Education (KCUE) and the Korea Council for College Education (KCCE) at the Korea Education Facilities Safety Institute in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, to hear opinions regarding academic operations for the second semester.
On this day, Deputy Prime Minister Yoo said, "For the growth and future of students, it is necessary to expand face-to-face activities more in the upcoming second semester and restore the daily life of universities," adding, "With the expansion of vaccinations and the accumulated quarantine capabilities of universities so far, it is believed that expanding face-to-face classes will be possible."
The Ministry of Education has proposed prioritizing vaccinations for university faculty and staff engaged in face-to-face work. Along with this, the roadmap for full in-person attendance for the second semester, scheduled to be announced this month, will also include content related to the expansion of face-to-face classes at universities.

She continued, "Since there are differences in (COVID-19) situations by region and the characteristics of universities and majors must be taken into account, preparations must be made meticulously through prior consultations with members."
Deputy Prime Minister Yoo said, "The Ministry of Education is preparing to expand face-to-face classes by creating more supplemented guidelines and various support measures that can help with quarantine."
