The body tied with iron wire in Cheongyang is a 'local man in his 50s'
[Asia Economy (Cheongyang) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The identity of a body found wrapped in a steel wire at a reservoir in Cheongyang, Chungnam, has been confirmed.
On the 14th, the Chungnam police announced that after verifying partial fingerprints, the body was identified as Mr. A, a man in his 50s residing in Cheongyang.
Earlier, Mr. A was found around 11:49 a.m. on the 13th at Chilgapsan Reservoir in Daechi-myeon, Cheongyang-gun, with a 0.5 cm thick steel wire wrapped around his waist.
At the time of discovery, Mr. A’s hands and feet were not bound, and the body was reported to be severely decomposed to the extent that only the gender could be distinguished.
The police plan to conduct an autopsy on Mr. A’s body by requesting the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death.
They will also review CCTV footage near the location where Mr. A was found and conduct an underwater search of the reservoir.
