25 Confirmed Cases Including 3 Elementary Schools and 1 High School in Gyeongnam
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju-cheol In] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 11th that as of 5 p.m., 25 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported.
By region, there are 13 in Gimhae, 5 in Yangsan, 3 in Changnyeong, 2 in Jinju, 1 in Sancheong, and 1 in Hamyang.
Among the confirmed cases in Gimhae, 7 had contact with confirmed cases within the province. 2 are related to the Gimhae Parts Factory II. This brings the total confirmed cases related to the Gimhae Parts Factory II to 15.
Additionally, 3 are related to entertainment bars, 1 to a Gimhae singing practice room, and 1 from the Seoul metropolitan area. The total confirmed cases related to the Gimhae singing practice room have increased to 24.
Notably, among the 13 confirmed cases in Gimhae, 3 are elementary school students and 1 is a high school staff member.
The quarantine authorities have set up screening clinics at 3 elementary schools and 1 high school to conduct tests on students and staff.
Among the 5 confirmed cases in Yangsan, 2 had contact with confirmed cases within the province. Among them, 1 is a daycare center worker.
At the daycare center, one worker tested positive during a preemptive test conducted on the 10th for daycare centers.
The remaining 1 and 2 confirmed cases in Yangsan are either related to Yangsan entertainment bars or are under investigation by quarantine authorities for their infection routes.
The 3 confirmed cases in Changnyeong are all foreigners of different nationalities and are related to a foreign restaurant in Changnyeong.
Among the 2 confirmed cases in Jinju, 1 had contact with a confirmed case from another region, and 1 is a foreigner who entered from overseas.
The confirmed case in Sancheong is a dual national who entered from overseas.
The confirmed case in Hamyang is a coworker of a confirmed case related to the Seoul metropolitan area.
