'Seoul Station Random Assault' Man in His 30s Sentenced to 1 Year and 6 Months in Prison in Second Trial
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] A man in his 30s who was prosecuted for assaulting a woman without reason at Seoul Station was sentenced to prison again in the appellate court.
On the 11th, the Criminal Appeals Division 8-3 of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judges Jang Yunseon, Kim Yeyeong, Jang Seonghak) sentenced Lee Mo, who was prosecuted for injury and other charges, to 1 year and 6 months in prison, the same as the first trial.
Lee is accused of punching the face of a woman in her 30s in front of an ice cream specialty store at Seoul Station on the Airport Railroad on May 26 last year and fleeing the scene. The victim reportedly suffered a torn eye area and a fractured cheekbone on one side.

On this day, the court stated, "Even considering that the incident occurred due to failure to protect while Lee moved to Seoul Station during probation, it is difficult to see the original sentence as excessively heavy or light and therefore unjust."
