Gwangju Seo-gu, the Only Autonomous District to Support 'Emergency Allowance for Job-Seeking Youth'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 8th that it is the only autonomous district in Gwangju to support the ‘Emergency Allowance for Job-Seeking Youth’ to help unemployed youth who are struggling to find jobs prepare for stable employment.
The support target is unemployed youth aged 19 to 39 residing in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, whose household income is within 150% of the median income standard and who are willing to engage in job-seeking activities.
However, recipients of livelihood benefits and unemployment benefits, and those receiving support from similar projects by other local governments or the government are excluded.
Selected youth will receive a total job-seeking allowance of up to 2.5 million KRW over a maximum of 5 months, paid in local currency (Gwangju Sangsaeng Card). Applications can be submitted until the 30th at the Seo-gu Job Center, Job Cafe Cheongchun Balsan Workshop, or Seo-gu Startup Center.
Seo-gu is expected to contribute to revitalizing the local economy, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19, along with supporting youth in preparing for stable employment.
