57 Local Public, Private, and Public Institutions Unite to Address Ulsan Regional Issues
On the 9th, the Launch Ceremony and Agreement Signing of the 'Ulsan Regional Problem-Solving Platform' Held
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 9th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 8th that it will hold the ‘Ulsan Regional Problem-Solving Platform Launch Ceremony and Agreement Ceremony’ together with 57 organizations including civil society, local governments, and public institutions at the Ulsan City Hall main conference room.
The Regional Problem-Solving Platform is a method in which local residents, local governments, public institutions, universities, and research institutes build a regional-level platform to collaboratively solve various local problems tailored to the local circumstances. Until last year, eight regional problem-solving platforms have been implemented nationwide, and this year, two additional regions, Ulsan and Busan, will be added, making a total of 10 regions operating.
Regions selected as Regional Problem-Solving Platforms discover and select local problems, choose public-private collaboration agendas, and solve and implement collaborative agendas to address local issues.
The Ulsan Regional Problem-Solving Platform, launching this time, was newly selected as a region in January 2021 through a public contest for additional regions last year. The Ulsan Regional Problem-Solving Platform is expected to select agendas on various local issues such as environment, housing, youth, and welfare, and solve them through collaboration.
In particular, as Ulsan is the industrial capital of the Republic of Korea and has many energy-related public institutions, various agenda implementations related to carbon neutrality, which is a major concern these days, are also expected.

We will do our best to ensure that the newly selected Ulsan region can also be successfully established.”
