Kim Du-kwan, "Autonomous Decentralization Forces Must Be Central to Regime Re-Creation"
At the Busan City Council Meeting, Proposal for "Priority Vaccination for Haeundae Merchants and Lodging Workers"
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] On the 7th, Kim Du-gwan, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, visited Busan and stated, "The main force that will save local areas from the risk of extinction is the autonomous decentralization force, and the autonomous decentralization force will lead balanced development," adding, "The autonomous decentralization force must take the lead in recreating the administration."
Kim said, "The crisis of local areas is due to their powerlessness and slow growth as political forces," and added, "President Kim Dae-jung revived local autonomy, President Roh Moo-hyun laid the foundation for balanced development, and President Moon Jae-in dreamed of a decentralized federal state, but the constitutional amendment was frustrated and passed on to the next administration."
Kim emphasized, "If we do not act, it will be difficult to prevent the extinction of local areas," and said, "If local areas do not take the initiative, they will not even receive minimal sympathy. Only a decentralized federal state, achieved through bold autonomous decentralization and radical balanced development, can save local areas and improve the people's 'quality of life.'"
Kim said, "If the autonomous decentralization forces of the Democratic Party of Korea awaken and act, they can be the only alternative force at the center of recreating the administration," and added, "The autonomous decentralization forces have already proven through the party convention that they are a united and active force."
Meanwhile, at 2 p.m. on the same day, during a meeting with Busan city council members held at the Busan City Council, Kim said, "Despite a 60% decrease in visitors to nationwide beaches last summer, Haeundae and Gwangalli in Busan attracted 6.66 million and 2.73 million visitors respectively.
They ranked 1st and 3rd in visitor numbers among about 270 beaches nationwide," and proposed, "Before the peak summer season begins, vaccines should be administered first to merchants and lodging workers in Haeundae and Gwangalli, as well as to public transportation workers in Busan."
