Musk Announces Cancellation of Model S Plaid Plus Launch on Twitter
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors, announced on Twitter on the 6th (local time) that the "(Model S) Plaid Plus has been canceled."
'Plaid Plus' was to be a higher version of the Model S Plaid. The Model S Plaid is an upgraded version of Tesla's Model S, which was launched in 2012, and the actual vehicle is scheduled to be unveiled on the 10th at the Fremont factory in California. Musk revealed that he would not develop a higher-tier vehicle than the Model S Plaid ahead of the Model S Plaid upgrade unveiling.
Musk explained the reason for not releasing the Plaid Plus as "because the Plaid is so good that it is unnecessary." He claimed that the Model S Plaid's zero to 60 mph (about 96 km/h) acceleration time, known as 'zero to sixty,' is under 2 seconds, making it "the fastest production car of all."

In September 2019, Musk announced plans to release Plaid versions of the Model S, the sport utility vehicle Model X, and the sports car Roadster. In January of this year, he also revealed the interior of the Model S and Model X Plaid versions.
