Gyeongnam Province Deploys 'Robots' to Respond to COVID-19
Selected in MOIS Contest for 'COVID-19 Management System RPA Application for Work Automation'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] A system that automatically processes COVID-19 test results and self-quarantine information through robotic automation will be operated in Gyeongnam.
Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 7th that it was finally selected for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's '2021 Local Government Collaboration Special Grant Support Project' and secured a special grant of 50 million won.
The Local Government Collaboration Special Grant Support Project is a program that supports collaborative tasks between local governments.
Gyeongnam Province proposed a project to automate COVID-19 information management system tasks in collaboration with the Provincial Government Innovation Promotion Team, Infectious Disease Management Division, Changwon City Innovation Officer, and three public health centers.
The number of COVID test results and management data increased to about 547,000 as of April 13 this year.
Accordingly, it currently takes more than 60 hours per day in three shifts to process an average of 1,180 data entries daily.
To solve these difficulties, the province plans to enable automatic input and verification of COVID-19 test results and self-quarantine information through robotic automation.
This is expected not only to improve the accuracy of COVID-19 related information but also to enhance the COVID-19 response capability.
