[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) opened the Anyangcheon Ecological Rice Paddy at 10 a.m. on the 2nd and held a traditional rice planting event.
In accordance with COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, only 50 children from two daycare centers were invited to participate in various activities such as mud experiences, loach catching, soap bubble play, balloon making with the Tall Uncle character, and rice planting.
Since June 2020, the district has established a 120㎡ ecological rice paddy at 340-2 Gasan-dong, next to the Anyangcheon Ha-an Pedestrian Bridge (towards Geumcheon Bridge riverside), and has held traditional rice planting and autumn harvest events annually.
Along with the rice paddy, two mini ponds harmonized with the surrounding environment have been planted with rice, soybeans, iris, gujeolcho (chrysanthemum), haeguk (sea aster), forget-me-not, water lily, and horsetail, providing a variety of sights.
