Jangseong-gun Holds Kickoff Meeting for 'Five-Year Comprehensive Plan for the Food Industry'
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong County in Jeonnam announced on the 1st that it held a 'Five-Year Comprehensive Plan for the Food Industry Establishment Research Service Kick-off Meeting' at the county office on the 31st of last month.
The kick-off meeting was attended by about 30 people, including representatives of agricultural corporations, agricultural organizations, and officials from the Nonghyup, while complying with COVID-19 quarantine rules.
This research service is being conducted to prepare for the establishment of a comprehensive plan for the county's food industry, which is scheduled to be implemented from 2022 to 2026, and through the service, it analyzes the appropriate self-sufficiency rate of food and facility investment demand.
Based on this, a comprehensive and long-term plan covering the entire food industry will be established, from food production and processing sectors to the installation and operation of distribution facilities.
The established comprehensive plan is scheduled to be submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs after the final report meeting at the end of September, and upon approval by the ministry, the county will be qualified to apply for various national subsidy-linked projects for the next five years.
The county plans to strengthen the competitiveness of the food industry by promoting ▲ cultivation of joint paddy field management entities for food crops (business diversification) ▲ support for the development of the rice processing industry ▲ additional support for rice purchase funds at the RPC (Rice Processing Complex).
A consultative body composed of agricultural organization representatives by item and related institution officials in the region will be formed to actively reflect various opinions from the field in the comprehensive food production plan.
To reduce production costs for farmers and preserve farm household income, support is also provided to farms for items necessary for rice farming such as seedbed soil, fertilizers, seedling box treatment agents, liquid silica, joint pest control, grain dryers, and forklifts.
