Geumcheon Senior Convenience Store Good Store Branch 2 Opens
Following the first store last year, the 2nd store opens at Siheung 1-dong Mujigae Apartment Shopping Center... Starting June 14, a total of 15 seniors will operate in three shifts
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) announced that the second branch of Seoul's first convenience store for seniors, ‘Chakhan Sanghoe,’ will begin full-scale operations from June 14.
‘Chakhan Sanghoe’ is a convenience store operated by employing seniors to create stable jobs for the elderly, managed by Geumcheon Senior Club (Director Kim Seon-woong), the dedicated senior job agency in Geumcheon-gu. Following the first branch (Gasan-dong) last year, the second branch was opened on the 24th in Siheung 1-dong (1st floor, commercial building, 11 Siheung-daero 73-gil).
At the second branch of Chakhan Sanghoe, 15 seniors aged 60 and above will work in three shifts after receiving training starting from June 14.
The store operates from 6 a.m. to midnight. Franchise fees and deposits were waived as part of the convenience store headquarters’ (GS25) social contribution project. The franchise contract period is one year, with the condition that if expected profits are low, subsidies from the headquarters will be provided.
Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “The senior convenience store ‘Chakhan Sanghoe’ was expanded to a second branch due to the enthusiastic response and interest in the first branch last year. With the motto that the best welfare for seniors is employment, we will continue to create various workplaces suited to the characteristics of seniors together with Geumcheon Senior Club.”
