Songpa-gu Hosts 'National Competition for Young Artists'
On the 28th, 10 teams will compete in the finals at Seoul Nori Madang, live streamed on YouTube Songpa TV
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu has prepared an online competition stage for young artists to support their artistic activities, which were lost due to COVID-19.
Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) announced that the finals of the ‘Young Artists Online National Competition’ will be held at 1 p.m. on the 28th at Seoul Nori Madang.
This competition was planned online as a way to continue the cultural and artistic values in the post-COVID era. The preliminary and final rounds (on-site competition) were scheduled for last year, but the final was postponed to this year due to the strengthening of social distancing measures.
The competition, held through a nationwide open call, received applications from a total of 364 teams. After a fierce first preliminary round, 5 teams each in the categories of ▲Original Songs and ▲Street Dance advanced to the second final round, where a total of 10 teams will compete for a total prize money of 23.6 million KRW.
The 10 teams participating in the finals will be awarded as follows in each category: 1 Grand Prize team, 1 Gold Prize team, 1 Silver Prize team, and 2 Bronze Prize teams. The competition will be broadcast live in real time on YouTube SongpaTV.
The competition will be held as a ‘no-audience competition’ prioritizing safety and complying with quarantine rules such as social distancing. Various comment events will be held to ease the disappointment of those who cannot visit the venue.
