One COVID-19 Case Confirmed in Geochang County (Geochang Case No. 40)
Identifying Contacts Based on Movement of Confirmed Cases from Other Regions
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 27th that one person who visited a screening clinic for testing due to close contact with a confirmed case from another region was diagnosed positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The 40th confirmed case in Geochang lived with a family member residing in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, who visited Geochang and stayed together from the 21st to the 23rd. The family member was confirmed positive on the 26th, and the patient was classified as a close contact and tested positive for COVID-19 on the 26th.
The confirmed patient currently shows no particular symptoms and has been identified as having hypertension as an underlying condition.
The county has admitted the confirmed patient to the Sacheon Living Treatment Center, and the county epidemiological investigation team is currently conducting a detailed epidemiological investigation.
Additionally, all close contacts identified so far have been tested and placed under self-quarantine, and disinfection and closure orders have been completed for the patient’s residence and visited locations.
