KOSPI Afternoon Decline Narrows... Around 3160 Level
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] As foreign investors and institutions continue to sell, the KOSPI narrowed its losses in the afternoon session.
At 1:48 PM on the 27th, the KOSPI stood at 3,162.74, down 0.16% (5.09 points) from the previous trading day. The index fell as much as 0.82% during the session to 3,142.37 but narrowed its decline in the afternoon.
Looking at investment trends, individual investors alone bought stocks worth 324 billion KRW, while foreign investors and institutions sold stocks worth 241.1 billion KRW and 35.5 billion KRW, respectively.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics traded down 0.25% at 79,600 KRW. NAVER (-1.10%), LG Chem (-3.37%), Samsung Biologics (-1.92%), Hyundai Motor (-1.12%), and Samsung SDI (-0.78%) also declined.
The KOSDAQ index stood at 968.28, up 0.23% (2.22 points) from the previous trading day. The index fell as much as 0.56% during the session to 960.64 but turned upward again in the afternoon.
Looking at investment trends, individual investors alone bought stocks worth 52.8 billion KRW, while foreign investors and institutions sold stocks worth 7.2 billion KRW and 37.8 billion KRW, respectively.
