Nonghyup Financial announced that on this day, Chairman Sohn and the CEOs of affiliated companies held a CEO council meeting to discuss pressing issues.
The meeting was conducted with ESG expert lectures and focused discussions, following Chairman Sohn's intention to "prepare proactive financial sector responses to the advancing ESG." Additionally, a lecture explaining "the fundamental restructuring of finance due to the transition to a low-carbon economy and the essential role of financial institutions for sustainable finance, especially the need to reflect ESG factors in corporate finance," garnered significant agreement.
Participants began discussions on the issuance and investment of ESG bonds and the purpose of bond fund usage, followed by in-depth debates on the impacts and countermeasures related to ESG.
Chairman Sohn stated, "To effectively respond to the financial market changing with ESG, it is most important to transform employees' awareness and strengthen their capabilities," and instructed, "Make sure employees can also watch this lecture."
Accordingly, Nonghyup Financial plans to make this lecture available to all group employees through the in-house education system NH-tong, and will continuously hold diverse and specialized ESG education and seminars to cultivate internal ESG capabilities.
