Yangsan City Council Basic Income Research Group Holds Expert Invitation Special Lecture
The Basic Income Research Group of Yangsan City Council in Gyeongnam invited Professor Kang Nam-hoon from the Department of Economics at Hanshin University to give a special lecture.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] The Basic Income Research Group of the Yangsan City Council in Gyeongnam announced on the 25th that it held a special lecture by inviting an external expert.
Basic income refers to income paid individually and regularly by the government or local governments to all citizens regardless of property or labor status, and means providing citizens with a monthly living expense sufficient to live above the poverty line unconditionally.
For this special lecture, Professor Kang Nam-hoon of the Department of Economics at Hanshin University was invited, and about 100 people from approximately 35 organizations in various social fields such as the Farmers' Association, Korean Federation of Trade Unions, Care Centers, Yangsan YMCA, Parents' Association, Women's Organizations, and Art Groups attended.

Park Jae-woo, the representative of the research group, said, "This special lecture was prepared to review the parts that social security is missing due to the current selective welfare system and to discuss the possibility of introducing various allowance systems," and added, "We will continue to strive so that interest in basic income can lead to policies through direct participation and communication of citizens."
