On the afternoon of the 24th, Gwangju Metropolitan City signed a "Business Agreement for the Realization of the Gwangju-type AI-Green New Deal" at the City Hall Business Room, attended by Mayor Lee Yong-seop, BerryWards CEO Kim Seong-woo, and Park Jeong-hwan, Head of Regional Industry Promotion at Gwangju Technopark.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲ administrative support and environmental creation when promoting the carbon-neutral e-mobility business ▲ establishment of an e-mobility production plant ▲ active discovery and participation in new projects related to carbon-neutral energy independence ▲ mutual cooperation in matters such as carbon neutrality and greenhouse gas reduction.
BerryWards Co., Ltd. is a consulting company responding to carbon neutrality and climate change by providing lifestyle carbon-neutral business models, greenhouse gas emission management consulting, RE100, and greenhouse gas reduction consulting to reduce greenhouse gases.
In particular, the company plans to establish a production plant in Gwangju as it begins the 'e-mobility business,' a business model for realizing lifestyle-based carbon neutrality that it developed independently, starting in Cambodia.
BerryWards plans to invest about 3.5 billion KRW to establish a new factory in Gwangju, including land acquisition and mass production line construction, and to hire additional personnel to begin full-scale production.
The e-mobility business targets Southeast Asia, where motorcycles and three-wheeled vehicles are widely used, as a strategic market, implementing a business model that utilizes battery charging systems based on renewable energy such as solar power.
In the future, the e-mobility business will continuously expand by linking various business items such as electric two-wheeler rental services at tourist sites, delivery markets, and rental markets, and plans to discover areas for utilizing the carbon-neutral e-mobility business domestically as well.
With the agreement with BerryWards, which is discovering various carbon-neutral business models aimed at reducing greenhouse gases, it is expected that the creation of Gwangju as a 2045 carbon-neutral energy-independent city and RE100 city will gain further momentum.
Kim Seong-woo, CEO of BerryWards, said, "Reducing greenhouse gases is important not only in the corporate sector but also in everyday life," adding, "BerryWards is a company that provides lifestyle-based carbon-neutral business models, and we will actively cooperate so that Gwangju can become an energy-independent city by 2045 through discovering and providing business models."
Mayor Lee Yong-seop said, "I sincerely thank BerryWards for choosing Gwangju as a partner for mutual growth," and added, "Today's business agreement will be a new driving force for our city to realize the AI Green New Deal, and it will also be an opportunity for BerryWards to secure global green competitiveness."
