Yeonggwang-gun Extends 'Social Distancing Level 1' Until Next Month 13
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Junsung) conducted training for senior public officials on extending the pilot application of social distancing level 1, currently in effect, for three weeks until the 13th of next month, in accordance with the government's policy to extend social distancing measures.
According to the county on the 24th, this extension was decided because the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases did not significantly increase in other cities and counties except for some in the eastern region of Jeollanam-do, and considering the difficult situation of self-employed and small business owners, the pilot application of social distancing level 1 will be maintained for the time being.
Under this extension, the ban on private gatherings of seven or more people (exceptions apply up to eight people for cohabiting or direct family members, wedding meetings, or when accompanied by infants) will be maintained, but private gatherings at entertainment venues such as nightclubs, karaoke bars, hunting pubs, colatecs, dance halls, holdem pubs, and singing practice rooms (excluding coin karaoke rooms) will be limited to four people.
Operators and workers must undergo anonymous and free diagnostic testing once a week.
The county will extend the pilot application of the revised social distancing plan for three more weeks, and designate the period from today until the 6th of next month as a 'special quarantine measure period' for two weeks, during which strengthened measures such as joint inspections of compliance with quarantine rules will be applied.
This measure was decided due to the recent increase in COVID-19 spread in entertainment facilities and multi-use facilities within the province, the rise in confirmed cases related to foreigners, and growing concerns about the influx of variant viruses.
Joint special inspections of quarantine rule violations at entertainment facilities, singing practice rooms, bathhouses, and other multi-use and vulnerable facilities will be conducted by the province, cities and counties, and police, and any violating businesses or facilities will be dealt with under a zero-tolerance policy.
