27th National Youth Writing Contest on Topics Including Bitcoin and Not Wanting to Study Held
Mapo-gu Accepting Submissions on 6 Themes Including 'Radiation, Opposite the Subway' Until June 4... Two Categories: Poetry and Prose, Open to Youth Aged 17 to Under 20
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yudonggyun) announced that the "27th National Youth Writing Contest," co-hosted by Mapo Central Library and the Korea Writers' Association, will be held on June 26 at Mapo Central Library.
The youth writing contest, organized to raise awareness of the value of Korean literature and to help cultivate healthy emotions, is celebrating its 27th year this year.
This year's contest is open to youths nationwide aged 17 to under 20 (excluding university students) and will be conducted in two categories: poetry and prose. Participants can choose from six writing prompts: "Radiation," "Opposite Side of the Subway," "Falling Into It Day After Day," "Bitcoin," "Unmute," and "Don't Want to Study."
To prevent COVID-19, the district plans to conduct the first preliminary round online as last year and select about 30 finalists.
Preliminary applications can only be submitted by mail and must be sent to the Korea Writers' Association office (5th floor, 128 Seongsan-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul) by June 4.
The preliminary results will be available on June 14 on the Korea Writers' Association website.
The final round will be held on June 26 at Mapo Central Library, and outstanding works will be awarded prizes (cultural gift certificates) in each category of poetry and prose.
For preliminary application submissions and other detailed information, inquiries can be made to the Korea Writers' Association, and past winning works can be viewed on the Korea Writers' Association website.
