Possibility of Future Alliance Remains Open

[Asia Economy Reporters Hyunju Lee and Juni Park] The expert group supporting former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, the "People's Coalition for Fairness and Common Sense Restoration (Gongjeonggwa Sangsik)," officially began its activities on the 21st. At the event, which combined the founding ceremony and a forum, Hwang Hee-man, former vice president of MBC who hosted the event, stated, "We will encourage former Prosecutor General Yoon's political challenge and form a meeting and network of various experts to find practical methods for regime change." The permanent representative of this group is Jeong Yong-sang, professor emeritus at Dongguk University and former president of the Korean Law Professors Association. He expressed the founding purpose as "to play a stepping stone role in building an advanced Republic of Korea."
However, this group has no direct connection with former Prosecutor General Yoon himself, and he did not appear at the launch ceremony. It is known that the will of Song Sang-hyun, professor emeritus at Seoul National University who supervised Yoon's master's thesis, was reflected in the establishment of this group, which also suggests the possibility of future cooperation. Former Prosecutor General Yoon trusts Professor Song so much that he introduces him as his "lifelong teacher" to those around him, and it is known that they have occasionally been in contact even during Yoon's time as a prosecutor.
Since the group is composed mainly of experts rather than politicians, there is also an analysis that it will be easier for former Prosecutor General Yoon to engage purely on a learning level. The representative founding members include Kim Jong-wook, professor at Korea National Sport University (former president), Park Sang-jin, chairman of the Gugak Academy, Lee Sung-woo, professor at Dong-A University, Kwon Dae-jung, chairman of the Korean Real Estate Society (professor at Myongji University Graduate School of Real Estate), Lee Sera, vice president of the Seoul Medical Association, and writer Oh Jin-young, among 33 others. A representative of Gongjeonggwa Sangsik stated, "We plan to operate as an organization that produces policies based on agendas," and added, "We will invite people who can show the right path to our society and conduct special lectures" as future plans.

The forum was held under the theme "Yoon Seok-yeol, Possibilities and Limits as President." Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon delivered the keynote discussion. However, Professor Jin said on the day, "I have no position related to former Prosecutor General Yoon," and added, "He has not yet declared his candidacy, and nothing has been revealed about his future political schedule, so I am not in a position to give my opinion."
