View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] The think tank of Lee Jae-myung, the leading presidential candidate from the ruling party and Governor of Gyeonggi Province, called the "National Assembly Forum for Growth and Fairness in the Republic of Korea" (Seonggong Forum), will officially launch tomorrow (the 20th). The 34 members of the Democratic Party of Korea who have joined the Seonggong Forum are known to be firmly classified as the 'Lee Jae-myung faction' in the next presidential election.
Kim Byung-wook, a Democratic Party lawmaker and co-chair of the Seonggong Forum, announced in a press release on the 19th that the forum will hold its inaugural ceremony and commemorative discussion at 10 a.m. on the 20th at the Korea Federation of SMEs in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. The Seonggong Forum is a policy forum launched mainly by Lee Jae-myung faction lawmakers within the party to conduct discussions and research with the two values of 'growth' and 'fairness' as its goals. Kim and Min Hyung-bae, a first-term lawmaker representing Honam, serve as co-chairs.
The forum includes a total of 34 participants, including Hong Jeong-min, who serves as research secretary, and advisors Ahn Min-seok (5-term) and Jeong Seong-ho (4-term), as well as Kim Nam-guk, Kim Seung-won, Kim Young-jin, Kim Yoon-duk, Kim Han-jung, Moon Jeong-bok, Park Sung-joon, Park Sang-hyuk, Seo Sam-seok, Seo Young-seok, Song Jae-ho, Yang Yi-won-young, Yoo Jeong-ju, Lee Kyu-min, Lee Dong-joo, Lee Su-jin (Dongjak), Lee Su-jin (Proportional), Lee Won-taek, Lim Oh-kyung, Lim Jong-seong, Jeon Yong-gi, Jeong Pil-mo, Jeong Il-young, Jo Jeong-sik, Joo Cheol-hyun, Choi Ki-sang, Choi Jong-yoon, Choi Hye-young, and Hwang Un-ha. Among them, about 20 are first-term lawmakers, accounting for more than half.
Lee Jae-myung will attend the inaugural ceremony and deliver a congratulatory speech. Congratulatory speeches are also scheduled from Democratic Party leader Song Young-gil and floor leader Yoon Ho-jung. Professor Ha Jun-kyung of Hanyang University will present on the topic "The Path to a Virtuous Cycle Sustainable Growth System," and Professor Joo Byung-ki of Seoul National University will present on "Inclusive Great Transition and Just Innovation."

Co-chair Kim said, "By increasing opportunities through growth, fairness can be guaranteed throughout society, and when institutions and processes are fair, harmonious growth is possible." He added, "The Seonggong Forum will serve as a think tank to create alternative policies and systems to build a capable and competent government fulfilling this role." Co-chair Min emphasized, "The next leadership must respond to citizens' demands for a fair society and proper growth and present a vision for Korea's future," adding, "The Seonggong Forum will be at the center of this."
