[AKYUNG Poll] President Moon's Job Approval Rating: Positive 36.8% vs Negative 58.9%
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] According to a survey, 36.8% of citizens think President Moon Jae-in is "doing well" in his state affairs, while 58.9% view his performance negatively, believing he is "not doing well."
The survey, conducted by Asia Economy through Win-G Korea Consulting from the 15th to 16th of last month, involved 1,019 men and women nationwide aged 18 and older. The gap between positive and negative evaluations was 22.1 percentage points, which is outside the margin of error (±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level). This is similar to the results from the fourth week of April (positive 36.7%) with no significant change.
By age group, only those in their 40s showed a majority positive evaluation (51.0%), while all other age groups had negative evaluations exceeding half. The highest negative evaluations were among those in their 60s (69.8%) and those aged 70 and above (67.8%), with the 20s also showing a high negative rate of 65.9%, above the overall average. Regionally, only Gwangju and Jeolla (60.0%) showed a majority positive evaluation, while all other regions had negative evaluations in the lead.

This public opinion survey was conducted using a 100% automated response system (ARS) with virtual phone numbers, and weights were applied by gender, age, and region. The response rate was 8.0%, and the sampling error was ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
