20 Confirmed Cases at Foreign Religious Event in Gimhae... Gyeongnam Province Reports 38 Cases (Summary)
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced that as of 1:30 PM on the 14th, 38 confirmed cases occurred since 5 PM the previous day.
By region, there were 20 in Gimhae, 5 in Yangsan, 4 in Hamyang, 3 in Jinju, 2 in Changwon, and 1 each in Miryang, Geoje, Changnyeong, and Goseong.
Among the confirmed cases in Gimhae, 15 were related to a foreigner religious event in Gimhae, testing positive and classified as numbers 301, 4302, 4308~4310, and 4314~4323.
On the 12th, two family members tested due to symptom onset, numbers 4268 and 4269, were initially confirmed positive, and on the previous evening, two other family members, numbers 4301 and 4302, were confirmed positive.
Then, on the morning of the day, one family member, number 4308, and 12 visitors to a grocery store and attendees of the religious event, numbers 4310, 4314~4323, were additionally confirmed positive.
The Gimhae city quarantine authorities confirmed that many foreigners visited the grocery store operated by the initial confirmed case, and on the morning of the previous day at 6 AM, the day the Ramadan event ended, a temporary screening clinic was set up near the event site to test 143 people.
As a result of the tests, 15 people tested positive excluding the initial two, and the remaining 128 tested negative.
Two confirmed cases in Gimhae were family members of confirmed cases within the province, classified as numbers 4303 and 4312.
One other case tested positive during a pre-release test of a confirmed case related to a Gimhae cram school and was classified as number 4300. This brings the cumulative confirmed cases related to the Gimhae cram school to 59.
One case was a friend of a confirmed case from another region, classified as number 4311, and one was a family member of a confirmed case related to the metropolitan area, classified as number 4313.
Among the confirmed cases in Yangsan, three are under investigation for infection routes, classified as numbers 4326, 4329, and 4330.
Among them, number 4330 is a worker at a Yangsan daycare center who tested positive during a childcare staff screening conducted by the province.
As a preemptive test for childcare staff, 26 staff members were tested, and except for number 4330, all 25 others tested negative.
One case was a family member of a confirmed case within the province who tested positive after symptom onset during quarantine, classified as number 4327.
The remaining case was a worker at a Yangsan food factory who tested positive and was classified as number 4328. This brings the cumulative confirmed cases related to the Yangsan food factory to 18.
The four confirmed cases in Hamyang were all family members of confirmed cases related to the metropolitan area, classified as numbers 4296~4299.
Among the confirmed cases in Jinju, one was a contact of a confirmed case within the province who tested positive during a pre-release test and was classified as number 4305.
One was related to the Sacheon Welfare Center and tested positive after symptom onset during quarantine, classified as number 4306. This brings the cumulative confirmed cases related to the Sacheon Welfare Center to 27.
The remaining one tested positive after voluntarily undergoing testing and was classified as number 4307.
The two confirmed cases in Changwon were contacts of confirmed cases within the province and tested positive, classified as numbers 4295 and 4324.
The one confirmed case in Miryang was an overseas entrant who tested positive during a pre-release test and was classified as number 4304.
The one confirmed case in Geoje was a contact of a confirmed case from another region and tested positive, classified as number 4331.
The one confirmed case in Changnyeong was a contact of a confirmed case related to the metropolitan area and tested positive, classified as number 4325.
The one confirmed case in Goseong tested positive after symptom onset and was classified as number 4294.
Accordingly, the cumulative confirmed cases in the province increased to a total of 4,328 (300 hospitalized, 4,012 discharged, 16 deceased).
