Gwangju Shinsegae Donates 10 Million Won to Low-Income Families with Disabilities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Dong-hoon) announced on the 12th that it donated 10 million won to low-income families with disabilities.
The donation was made in advance from the proceeds raised through the campaign "Creating a World Together with Families of People with Disabilities," conducted throughout May in collaboration with Gwangju Metropolitan City and the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.
The donation ceremony was attended by Lee Yong-seop, Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City; Lee Dong-hoon, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae; Han Sang-won, Chairman of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea; and Kim Yoo-sun, President of the Gwangju Parents' Association for People with Disabilities, among others.
The campaign is held in celebration of Family Month, wishing to create a world without distinction between people with and without disabilities, a society free from discrimination caused by disabilities, and a society where human rights and equality breathe.
Lee Dong-hoon, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae, said, "I hope families with disabilities have a warm Family Month in May."

Mayor Lee Yong-seop stated, "This will be a great support for families with disabilities who are facing even greater difficulties due to COVID-19," and added, "Gwangju City will also make greater efforts to expand welfare infrastructure for families with disabilities, such as establishing a Converged Care Support Center for Severely Disabled Developmental Disabilities."
