Additional Positive Cases Detected in Comprehensive Testing of All Public Officials
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Kyung-taek] Five additional COVID-19 cases, including Yeosu City Hall officials, were confirmed overnight in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do.
According to Yeosu City on the 12th, after an employee working at the Gukdong temporary office (Yeosu case number 136) tested positive on the 11th, a full inspection of all Yeosu City Hall officials confirmed that three officials tested positive.
Along with this, two more cases were confirmed during self-quarantine, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 141.
On the 11th, Yeosu City closed the Gukdong temporary office and began a full investigation of about 180 people across eight departments. Later that afternoon, diagnostic tests were conducted on about 2,500 employees, including those at the Hakdong main office.
Yeosu City extended the temporary closure of the Gukdong temporary annex office until 6 p.m. on the 12th. All employees working at the Gukdong office will work from home.
