The 'SOS Relay Challenge Campaign' began on the 1st of last month with Seoul Metropolitan Council Chairman Kim In-ho and is being conducted through social networking services (SNS) to raise nationwide awareness, including Seoul citizens, for the eradication of child abuse and the discovery of welfare blind spots. Participants post photos holding the slogan 'S.O.S (Save Our Seoul)' on SNS and then recommend the next participant in a relay format, continuing the campaign.
Chief Lee Won-jun joined the challenge last week after being nominated by Lee Young-woo, Chief of the Seoul Western Police Station. He posted photos holding the SOS challenge slogan on SNS platforms such as Facebook and blogs. He also recommended Park Joo-hyun, Chief of the Yongsan Police Station, as the next participant in the relay.
In particular, despite the surge in reports following the 'Yangcheon Child Abuse Case' due to heightened public interest and increased reporting atmosphere, the Eunpyeong Police Station plans to actively continue immediate initial responses, review rapid separation measures for victims and perpetrators, and protect and support affected children through ongoing cooperation with related organizations.
