Gangjin-gun Strengthens Child Abuse Response System
Signed Business Agreement with 7 Organizations Including Gangjin Medical Center
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Gangjin County has designated Jeollanam-do Gangjin Medical Center as a dedicated medical institution for child abuse and is strengthening the cooperative system for joint response to child abuse.
According to the county on the 11th, on the 10th, seven representatives from each institution, including Lee Seung-ok, Gangjin County Governor, Wi Seong-sik, Chairman of Gangjin County Council, Park Seung-gi, Chief of Gangjin Police Station, Choi Kwang-hee, Director of Gangjin Office of Education, Jeong Ki-ho, Director of Jeollanam-do Gangjin Medical Center, Lim Gwang-mook, Director of Jeonnam Western Child Protection Agency, and Park Jeong-ae, Director of Jabiwon, attended the 'Child Abuse Joint Response Work Agreement Ceremony' held at the small conference room of the county office.
The attendees agreed at this meeting to establish a unified support system for early detection and prompt response to child abuse victims.
The agreement includes specific cooperation details regarding reporting suspected child abuse cases, joint inspections and visit counseling for preschool and long-term absent children, out-of-school youth, information sharing, and urgent relief support.
The county designated Gangjin Medical Center as the dedicated medical institution for child abuse and requested cooperation for prompt treatment, examination, and medical consultation for child abuse victims.
When child abuse is reported, the responsible public officials and police jointly dispatch to conduct on-site investigations, and for families requiring improvement, active management such as case management, service linkage, and monitoring is implemented.
