KT launches 'Olleh TV Homeschool X AI Home Run' targeting elementary students... 82,500 KRW per month
Introducing a bundled plan available for around 70,000 KRW per month, including Olleh TV and AI Home Run services
[Asia Economy Reporter Joeslgina] KT announced on the 11th that it will launch the smart home learning service for elementary school students, ‘Olleh tv Homeschool X AI Home Run,’ in response to the increasing demand for non-face-to-face (untact) education services.
This is an education-dedicated application jointly developed by KT, the No.1 IPTV company, and Icecream Edu, a leading domestic edutech company. It offers Icecream Edu’s elementary student-targeted homeschool service ‘AI Home Run’ core content and ‘AI Learning Management’ services for self-directed learning. Interactive learning using a wireless keyboard and touch pen is also possible. It is available on the ‘Olleh tv Tab (Galaxy Tab A7)’ released by KT the day before, so purchasing the device is required.
Olleh tv Homeschool provides smart home learning services such as ▲premium learning content for all elementary school grades ▲3 million future-oriented multimedia contents (AR, VR, 3D, etc.) 100% linked to the curriculum. In addition, it offers services that support self-directed learning, such as ▲‘AI Life Record Book,’ which analyzes over 15,000 learning data daily to inform students’ strengths, weaknesses, and learning progress ▲‘Good Parent App,’ which helps parents manage their children’s learning.
KT introduced a multi-profile policy that allows up to two people to learn simultaneously with one account so that families with multiple children can use Olleh tv Homeschool without the burden of private education expenses. Since the service is provided through a tablet device, it can be used not only inside the home but also outside without location restrictions, making it highly versatile.
Additionally, KT has prepared the ‘Olleh tv Prime Homeschool’ plan, which bundles Olleh tv and AI Home Run services for 82,500 KRW per month (VAT included, based on a 3-year combined contract). Existing Olleh tv customers can add Olleh tv Homeschool on multiple devices for 77,660 KRW per month (VAT included, based on a 3-year contract). KT stated that since the monthly usage fee for other smart home learning services targeting elementary students in the market is in the 100,000 KRW range (24-month contract), Olleh tv Homeschool is also superior in terms of price competitiveness.
In the future, KT plans to present new learning methods based on edutech essential in the post-COVID era by strengthening the interactive learning functions of Olleh tv Homeschool by linking IPTV and tablet devices.
Meanwhile, to commemorate the launch of Olleh tv Homeschool, an event has been prepared. All customers who subscribe to Olleh tv Homeschool will receive a stand case, wireless keyboard, and touch pen as gifts to assist interactive learning, and nine paper learning guides will be delivered to their homes every semester. Also, customers who subscribe to the Olleh tv Prime Homeschool plan by July will be entered into a draw to receive a kids bumper case, with 100 winners selected monthly.
Kim Hun-bae, Executive Director of KT Media Platform Business Division, said, “The boundary between school and home is breaking down, making the home both a ‘place of leisure’ and a ‘place of learning,’ and interest from parents and the market in edutech-based homeschooling is gradually increasing. Starting with the launch of Olleh tv Homeschool X AI Home Run, KT will lead the homeschooling market, which will be the core of future education, and provide customers with more innovative educational environments and services.”
