Dongdaemun-gu Operates Welfare Safety Net KakaoTalk Plus Friend 'Dongdaemun-gu BokjinuriTalk'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) will operate the KakaoTalk Plus Friend service ‘Dongdaemun-gu Bokji Nuri Talk’ as a non-face-to-face welfare safety net starting in May.
The district planned ‘Dongdaemun-gu Bokji Nuri Talk’ so that anyone can quickly and easily report crisis households via KakaoTalk without time and location restrictions, and residents who feel burdened by face-to-face counseling can easily share their situations and receive consultations.
Additionally, the district provides various welfare information to residents through ‘Dongdaemun-gu Bokji Nuri Talk’.
To use ‘Dongdaemun-gu Bokji Nuri Talk,’ search for ‘Dongdaemun-gu Bokji Nuri Talk’ on KakaoTalk and add it as a friend.
The service is available on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Reports and submissions received through ‘Bokji Nuri Talk’ are checked by the district’s Hope Welfare Support Team and then linked to the relevant community service center, where a community welfare planner will support crisis households through home visits and counseling.
The district plans to promote priority registration for members of the Dong Hope Welfare Committee, neighbors watching over each other, honorary social welfare officers, and our neighborhood care groups, and will also actively encourage residents working at goshiwons, apartment management offices, convenience stores, clinics, and pharmacies to register.
The district will continue to diversify methods to discover welfare blind spots, promptly identify and support crisis households, spread moving stories, and foster awareness of neighbors watching over and helping each other to build a strong local community.
