Samsung to Conduct 'First Half GSAT' Online on June 8-9 This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Samsung will conduct the job aptitude test for the open recruitment of new college graduate employees on the 8th and 9th. Due to the impact of COVID-19, the test will be held online again following two online tests last year.
According to the business community on the 7th, Samsung will conduct the "2021 First Half Level 3 (College Graduate) New Employee Open Recruitment Samsung Job Aptitude Test (GSAT)" on the weekend of the 8th and 9th. A Samsung official stated, "Due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19, the GSAT will be held online again this year following last year." Samsung first conducted the online GSAT in May last year during the "2020 First Half College Graduate Open Recruitment."
This year, applicants for 14 affiliates including Samsung Electronics, △Samsung Display △Samsung SDI △Samsung Electro-Mechanics △Samsung SDS △Samsung Life Insurance △Samsung Securities △Samsung Engineering △Samsung C&T (Construction, Trading, Resort) △Cheil Worldwide △S-1 △Samsung Biologics △Samsung Bioepis △Samsung Electronics Sales will take the test. The test will be held twice a day at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., with a total of four sessions.
To prevent cheating, examinees must use a smartphone stand included in a kit provided by Samsung in advance to record their face, the PC screen where the test is taken, and both hands. Candidates caught cheating will be disqualified from applying for the next five years. Cheating includes forgery or alteration of ID and supporting documents, proxy test-taking or requesting others to take the test, taking notes or photographing questions, leaking some or all of the questions, and exchanging answers with others.

Applicants who pass the GSAT are expected to complete interviews and health checkups by next month, after which the final acceptance will be decided. Samsung is the only company among the top four conglomerates conducting open recruitment for college graduates.
