Gwangju City Announces Two Support Project Competitions for Disabled Persons from 18th to 20th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 6th that it will promote the ‘2021 Disabled Welfare Fund Support Project Contest’ and the ‘2021 Gwangju Metropolitan City Disabled Job Support Project Additional Contest.’
The Disabled Welfare Fund Support Project will support up to 10 places with a total project cost of 50 million KRW. The job support project plans to select up to 2 implementing agencies with a total project cost of 100 million KRW.
The Disabled Welfare Fund was established in 2011 for the purpose of promoting welfare for the disabled and supporting the development of disabled organizations.
After raising a target amount of 3 billion KRW, since 2018, it has been conducting beneficiary-centered rights projects for the productive welfare of the disabled.
This year’s Disabled Welfare Fund Support Project supports institutions (corporations, organizations, facilities) located in Gwangju City in six categories for the promotion of welfare for the disabled in Gwangju: ▲participation and development of social activities for the disabled ▲education and vocational training for the disabled ▲health promotion and leisure activities for the disabled ▲projects such as investigation, research, and publicity for the promotion of welfare for the disabled ▲rehabilitation support for home-based disabled persons ▲protection of residents in disabled welfare facilities.
However, institutions with less than one year of purpose projects, organizations that have been sanctioned due to social controversies or unfair acts, one-time, exhibition-type, or organization promotional events, and cases where subsidies have been received or support has been confirmed from Gwangju City for the same (similar) projects cannot receive project funds.
In addition, the Disabled Job Support Project, which is additionally open with the remaining project cost of 100 million KRW out of the total 200 million KRW, plans to select up to 2 implementing agencies that can create quality jobs for disabled residents in the region through document screening and presentation evaluation.
Previously, on the 29th of last month, Gwangju City selected Seo-gu Disabled Welfare Center (50 million KRW) and Geumho Comprehensive Social Welfare Center (50 million KRW) as implementing agencies by reviewing the 2021 Disabled Job Support Project at the Job Committee Disabled Subcommittee.
Institutions and organizations wishing to apply for the two contest projects can download the application form from the city’s website announcement starting from the 7th, fill it out, and submit it in person or by mail to the city’s Disabled Welfare Division from the 18th to the 20th.
Gwangju City will finalize the project implementing agencies through the screening of the review committee and announce them on the city’s website, etc.
