Through this year’s selected project, Gokseong-gun will operate the Gangbit Living Lab, rural living experience programs, and a non-face-to-face project to revive small-scale farms. The Gangbit Living Lab is a collaborative effort where regional innovators and village activists brainstorm to find solutions to community issues. It is expected to serve as an alternative to complement the limitations of indirect democracy, coinciding with growing interest in expanding resident autonomy.
The rural living experience program, as the name suggests, encourages urban residents to live in rural areas to promote return-to-farm and rural migration. It will be conducted by supplementing and expanding the existing program called ‘Gangbit Living’ operated by Gokseong-gun. The program targets a diverse group, including retirees, parents interested in rural education, and young people involved in the silver industry.
The non-face-to-face project to revive small-scale farms is designed to help small-scale farmers without distribution networks establish online sales channels. The main content includes expert training for studio use such as video shooting and conducting online live sales of excellent agricultural products.
Gokseong-gun’s business plan received high marks for actively utilizing local networks to solve regional problems. Additionally, the non-face-to-face small-scale farm revival project was praised for its originality and deemed essential for rural areas not only during the COVID-19 era but also afterward.
