7 Disabled Welfare Centers in Gwangju Region Receive A Grade in Social Welfare Facility Evaluation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 6th that all seven disability welfare centers in the region received an average A grade (excellent facility) in the ‘2020 Social Welfare Facility Evaluation’ conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
In particular, from this evaluation, a qualitative indicator (overall facility operation) was introduced for the first time to assess efforts to improve the quality of services. Dong-gu Disability Welfare Center, Nam-gu Disability Welfare Center, and Emmaus Welfare Center received A grades in all areas, showing the highest level of service quality among 144 disability welfare centers nationwide.
This evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of overall facility operation conducted every three years by the Ministry of Health and Welfare under the ‘Social Welfare Services Act,’ covering six areas: facility/environment, finance/organization, programs/services, user rights, community relations, and overall facility operation.
According to the evaluation results, the Ministry of Health and Welfare will provide incentives to excellent facilities and those with significant score improvements compared to previous evaluations, and will offer customized consulting and capacity-building training to facilities with unsatisfactory evaluations (D to F grades).
