Gyeongnam Province Sees Significant Increase in Public Procurement of Social Economy Enterprise Products in Q1
Q1 Social Economy Enterprises Product Purchase Amount Approximately 1.2 Billion KRW, 47% Increase Compared to Same Period Last Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] According to Gyeongnam Province, public institutions purchased approximately 1.2 billion KRW worth of social economy enterprise products during the first quarter.
The main factors for the increase in purchase amount include procurement related to cleaning services and goods purchase for residential treatment centers, as well as the smooth commencement of private consignment projects supporting social economy enterprises.
This year, the purchase target was set at 5 billion KRW, a 44% increase compared to last year's performance.
The province plans to achieve the goal through various measures such as operating a public procurement promotion team, providing on-site one-on-one consultations, and strengthening the capacity of social economy enterprises to enter the public market.
Additionally, to enhance priority purchase performance by city and county governments and establish a cooperative system between the province and local governments, active efforts to encourage purchases are being carried out.
Jang Jaehyeok, head of the Social Economy Promotion Team of the province, stated, "We will do our best to support priority purchases to provide practical help to social economy enterprises facing difficulties such as decreased sales due to COVID-19, and we ask public institutions to actively participate in the priority purchase of social economy enterprise products in the future."
