View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] From tomorrow until the early morning of Children’s Day on the 5th, spring rain will fall.
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted on the 3rd that due to a low-pressure system moving northeast near Shanghai, China, rain will begin on the morning of the 4th in northern Gyeonggi Province including Seoul and northern Gangwon Yeongseo, expanding during the day to Chungnam, Jeolla regions, Jeju Island, and in the afternoon to other areas.
Most of the rain is expected to stop by the early morning of the day after tomorrow.
From the night of the 4th to the early morning of the next day, in the central region, southern coast, and Jeju Island, rain clouds will develop strongly with gusty winds and thunder and lightning in some places, so special caution is required for safety accidents and facility management.
Expected rainfall amounts are 100?200 mm (with some areas exceeding 250 mm) in the mountainous areas of Jeju Island; 20?60 mm in northern Gyeonggi, northern Gangwon Yeongseo, southern coast, near Jirisan, and Jeju Island (excluding northern coast and mountainous areas); 10?40 mm in Chungcheong, Jeolla (excluding southern coast), Gyeongsang (excluding southern coast and eastern coast of North Gyeongsang), and northern coast of Jeju Island; and 5?20 mm in Gangwon Yeongdong, eastern coast of North Gyeongsang, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo.
Visibility will be reduced and roads will be slippery in areas with rain, so attention to traffic safety is necessary.
From the afternoon of the 4th, winds will gradually strengthen, blowing very strongly at speeds of 35?60 km/h with maximum gusts exceeding 70 km/h along the coastal areas of Jeolla, Gyeongsang, Jeju Island, and mountainous areas of Gangwon until the 5th. Other regions may also experience strong winds and gusts with maximum gusts exceeding 55 km/h.
The Korea Meteorological Administration emphasized the need to inspect facilities such as outdoor screening clinics, construction sites, vinyl greenhouses, and traffic lights, as well as hazardous elements like falling objects and signboards that may be blown by strong winds to prevent damage. In the mountainous areas of Gangwon, wind speeds at tunnel entrances may vary due to strong winds, and wind speeds on elevated roads such as bridges may become stronger, so caution is advised.
Morning temperatures on the 4th are expected to rise 2?5 degrees compared to the previous day, with most regions nationwide around 10 degrees Celsius, and Gangwon inland and mountainous areas around 5 degrees Celsius. The lowest morning temperatures by region are expected to be 8?16 degrees Celsius, and the highest daytime temperatures 17?24 degrees Celsius.
